Krause Center Re-Opening

Saturday, March 25th, 9 am – 2 pm (come and go)

25752 Kingsland Blvd, Katy TX 77494

Come join us as we welcome Upbring back into our local community!

On Saturday, March 25th, from 9 am to 2 pm, we will be helping them with landscaping /gardening, power washing and demo/construction of a small building. This is a family friendly serving opportunity.

Upbring’s Krause Center is reopening in May as a shelter for unaccompanied minors as part of the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) program. They will temporarily house children ages 5-17 years old while their natural families are located or alternatives of foster care and/or adoptions can be arranged. As you may know, the facility was previously a TX foster system Residential Treatment Center for troubled girls.

By coming alongside of Upbring, we are helping many young children from all over the world who are new immigrants to our country, have a nice facility to call home for a few weeks or months until they are connected to their families!

Kairos Prison Ministry Closing Ceremony

June 18, 2023, 3:30-6:00 pm

Meet in Grace Fellowship Parking Lot

Thank you for your interest in experiencing a Kairos Prison Ministry closing ceremony.

You are invited to help us take God’s love on a short mission trip to the Carol Vance Unit of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Prison in Fort Bend County for the closing of the Kairos walk.

Who can Attend? Anyone with a valid driver’s license and is 18 years or older may be eligible to come with our group. Please register by Sunday, April 30th so clearances can be attained for all volunteers in a timely manner.

What to Expect?  You will get to hear and observe how Jesus Christ has impacted the lives of the inmates through Kairos.  You will be privileged to hear the testimonies of people whose lives have been changed by God and it will remind us that His unconditional love can change the hardest of hearts.  For many, it is the first time that they will see God’s love in their lives. Your presence will be a blessing to yourself and to so many others.

How will we get there?  We have many dedicated Kairos volunteers who are very familiar with this great ministry and can share their insights, experiences and passion for this outreach. They will meet you at Grace Fellowship and carpool you over to the prison and back to the church.

Answering the call to attend a Kairos Closing Ceremony is an act of discipleship in the spirit of Matthew 25:36, which reads: “… I was in prison and you visited me.”

The mission of the Kairos Prison Ministry is to share the transforming love and forgiveness of Jesus to impact the hearts and lives of incarcerated men, women, youth and their families, so that they may become loving and productive citizens of their communities.

Please come and love on our international neighbors at Camden Downs. Many families come from far and away places around the world and this is yet another fantastic opportunity to show our Texas hospitality and to share our faith and love for Jesus with those who may not know Him at all!

We will have water inflatables, snacks and many other fun activities! Everyone can serve… we’ll need greeters, volunteers to relationally connect with our guests, attendants for our different stations (inflatables, water, snacks), help with set up and tear down and much more… This is a great family friendly serving opportunity!
