Double Dog Dare Challenge - September & October 2023
Be the hands and feet of Jesus in September and October….
After an intensely hot summer, we thought it would be great to begin our Fall 2023 Church in Action program highlighting Tyler Moffett’s “Your Kingdom Come in My Relationships” July 16 sermon. Tyler reminded us that God’s greatest commandments are Love God and Love our Neighbor and they are forever intertwined! He called on each of us to put our Faith into Action and love our neighbors as ourselves in our local community.
There are so many ways to love our neighbors. With so many people struggling today, we have this great opportunity now to be the hands and feet of Jesus. The possibilities are endless!
What is the Holy Spirit calling you, your family, your small group or any group of Grace Fellowship friends to do? It doesn’t need to be complicated or burdensome! Here’s a link to a list of ideas to help your team get started! Additionally, our Missions team can help you with other ideas and/or get connected to one of our faith-based partners where you can meet one of their organizational needs.
Missions will provide up to $500 for equipment, supplies, and materials for your community projects through our Double Dog Dare program. We also have a block party trailer (suitable for a group of 50-100 people), a tool trailer and several enclosed and open bed trailers that can help you with your community service projects.

…. asking Jesus, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” Jesus answered, “The most important is, “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:28-31
Love in Action: Prayer, Share and Build
Saturday, September 30
The Hangar Unity Center, 4010 4th Street, Brookshire
8:30-12:30pm (Prayer and Share Team)
8:30-3:00 pm (Build Team) (come and go as your schedule permits)
Join us at The Hangar for a powerful morning of worship, prayer and community blessings!
Our prayer and faith share team will mobilize out into the Brookshire community ministering to the many broken families that need the Good News of Jesus! We will open with group worship and a brief training, and then form small groups to walk the various neighborhoods praying for people and ministering with them.
We will also be partnering with Fort Bend Ramps to bless a special needs family in Brookshire by building an access mobility ramp. Fort Bend Ramps provides access ramps for families that otherwise could not afford them. This precious gift is life changing for these families and gives enhanced mobility in their daily lives! No tools or special skills are needed for serving with the build team.
Both teams will come together and end the sharing time at 12:00pm at The Hangar with a hot dog lunch and debrief.
There are a variety of volunteer opportunities with this event … be part of the worship team, join in praying and sharing with the community, grill and serve hot dogs, or help build an access ramp. Whether you sign up for the prayer or the build team, you will be serving the Lord and helping us reach our goal of touching 1,000 in our community for Jesus!
Please pray over this serving opportunity and register to be a part of our team today!

Garden of Grace Sweet Potato Harvest
Saturday, November 4, 8:00-11:00am
Grace Fellowship Campus
Happy Fall Y'all! To celebrate this wonderful season, please join us Saturday, November 4, from 8:00-11:00am (come and go as available) at the Garden of Grace for the third annual sweet potato harvest!
Last year, we harvested over 600 pounds of sweet potatoes for families in need in the Katy community. After harvesting, the sweet potatoes will “cure” for two weeks, so they will be ready just in time for Thanksgiving!
In addition to harvesting sweet potatoes, we will be planting, weeding and mulching our winter vegetables. There may be additional garden activities as well.
Please bring gardening gloves if you have some. We’ll have plenty of snacks and water for everyone. Due to the type of work involved, this event is for volunteers ages 15+. We are happy to sign off on service hours for students.
We are so blessed at Grace Fellowship with a garden that in the past 2 ½ years has produced over 33,000 pounds of produce for the Katy Christian Ministries food pantry and other under-resourced people in the Katy and Houston communities.
