Connecting Families with Special Needs to the Church

The Cinco Ranch Campus Special Needs Ministry is available at the 8:45AM and 10:45AM services for individuals ages preschool through adults. 

If your child has a special need, please fill out the visitor form below prior to your visit so we can know more about your child and prepare our staff to welcome them!  We will then place your child in one of our classes based on age and ability.

What is The Bridge Special Needs?

The Bridge is the Special Needs Ministry at Grace Fellowship Church for children, teens, and young adults. Participants in The Bridge learn about God in a nurturing and safe environment.

Currently, over 50 individuals ages 2 through 31 are served through this special needs ministry.

Sunday Morning

Our Sunday morning program provides customized lessons based on each individuals learning abilities during the 8:45AM and 10:45AM morning services. Each of our participants are placed in one of our special needs classes based on age and ability. These classes are held in the Children's Education Building and the Student Building.

Respite Nights

In addition to Sunday morning programing, regular respite nights are offered for our members and regular attendees. 

MOBS (Mothers of Bridge Students) 

This small group meets on the last Monday of each month from 6:30-8PM in The Special Needs Adult Room. Childcare is available upon request. Please do not hesitate to contact our Special Needs Director, Katina Yeargain, for more information.

The Bridge exists to love and serve Jesus Christ by making it possible for individuals with special needs and their families to fully participate in the church community of Grace Fellowship Church as it seeks to be a House of Prayer for All Nations.

Our Intake Process

 

After visiting, we will send your child home with an intake packet. These documents help us gather information to understand your child's needs better and serve them in the best way possible.  For questions or more information, please do not hesitate to contact our Special Needs Director, Katina Yeargain

Bridge Eligibility

To provide the best environment for each individual to grow in their faith, every prospective participant must meet the following criteria: 

  • Must not be aggressive*, pose a threat to themselves or others, or have such severe medical needs requiring specialized care.

With this in mind, a case-by-case decision will be made based on a participant’s medical, emotional, and behavioral needs.

 

*The Special Needs Ministry defines aggressive behavior as behavior that is forceful, hostile verbally/ physically.

Opportunities for Involvement

 

Each of our participants are involved in worship and Bible lesson time in a most appropriate way to learn about God's love for them during our 8:45AM and 10:45AM services. 

Sunday Morning Bridge Preschool/Elementary

Preschool/ Elementary meets in the Special Needs Ministry area, located in the Children's Building. Our volunteers assist with worship, Bible study, and much more with our special needs children.

Sunday Mornings- Junior High & High School Special Needs

On Sunday mornings, at 8:45AM we meet in the Special Needs Adult room located in the Children's Education Building. At the 10:45AM service, we meet in the Student Ministry Building downstairs in rooms 101 and 105. Volunteers accompany special needs youth to the Junior High Sunday morning service for worship, teaching, and fellowship. We also have a special time of Bible study, games, friendship, and more with our special needs youth in our classrooms. 

Sunday Mornings Special Needs Adults

Special Needs Adults meet at 8:45AM and 10:45am in the Adult Special Needs Room located in the Children's Education Building. This class is for individuals who have completed high school. Our volunteers assist with worship, Bible study, and much more with our special needs adults.
