Simple Grace - A Contemplative Service

What makes Simple Grace unique among the three services on our main campus is our smaller setting, our worship music that draws from many genres of Christian music throughout the ages to today, and that we receive Communion each week.

We invite you to join us for worship at this contemplative service. We meet in person in The Great Southwest Prayer Center on the main campus. You can also stream this service live.

Volunteer Opportunities
  • Audio/Visual Team: This team offers visual and audio support for our contemplative service. We need volunteers to run visuals: Powerpoint, video clips, lighting, etc., and audio equipment (music and spoken word). You are needed and your role is important because you help maintain the sacred space that helps congregants connect with God.
  • Camera Operators: Our service is live-streamed each week. Volunteers on this team focus and direct the camera throughout the service for those watching online. A brief training session is provided. If you would like to be part of a team that assists others to attend our services remotely, please contact Cindi Adams, (cadams@whatisgrace.org). “Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.” Proverbs 11:25
  • Communion Teams: Jesus told his followers, “As often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes,” I Cor 11:26. We receive this God-honoring Sacrament each week. Communion Teams rotate helping to prepare and serve the elements to our congregation.
  • Greeter Team: Romans 15:7 encourages, “Welcome one another, therefore, as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God” Being a warm and welcoming presence as people arrive for worship helps prepare congregants and first-time visitors for worship. Greeters provide our Simple Grace gift bag to first-time visitors, assist with making sure everyone has a bulletin, and occasionally serve to answer questions about our church or directs newcomers.
  • Worship Team Vocalist/Instrumentalist: We are always looking for gifted vocalists and instrumentalists to join us in Worship on Sunday morning. Worship leadership helps to usher in the presence of God. If your passion is worship, please contact Cindi Adams at 713-857-0431. This serving opportunity does not require a weekly commitment.

If you would like to serve as a volunteer, please see Kimberly Dybeck, Associate Pastor or Cindi Adams, Worship Leader. You may also email kdybeck@whatisgrace.org or cadams@whatisgrace.org.
