Church Has Left The Building

  • WHO? We pray that everyone a Grace Fellowship will serve with us at CHLB 2020! You can serve with a team from your large group, your small group, as a family or individually too.
  • WHAT? Our church doors will be closed as we serve as the Hands and Feet of Jesus in our local community! Each small group or team is encouraged to adopt a local neighborhood or community project. A variety of large projects will also be offered for those interested in serving with these teams.
  • WHY? To glorify God and share His love and mercy in our Community! Jesus commanded the following of us: “…let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 ESV
  • WHEN? Please serve on the morning of Sunday, March 1, 2020. Specific times will be set by your team leader, large project times will be announced soon.
  • WHERE? Each team can serve anywhere in our local community, all large projects will be in the Katy/West Houston area.
  • HOW? 1) Nominate your Small Group's project; 2) Adopt a project from our list; or 3) Register to join a large project (see details below).
  • RESOURCES? Teams can access funds up to $500 for their service projects.
  • CHILDCARE? Childcare will be available, from 7:30am to 2:30pm, for children 8 weeks to pre-K with advance registration by Sunday, February 23. Scroll down to register. NOTE: We ask that families please utilize childcare only for the duration of their CHLB project.

2) We have a list of projects that can be adopted by a small group.

Feed the Hunger

Feed the Hunger has a God inspired goal of over 1,000,000 meals for this year’s Katy Packathon! Please help them to reach this aspirational goal! These meals provide physical sustenance and spiritual nourishment for those so desperately in need… here locally, across the nation and all over the world! For ages 5 and older.

Only 1,000 spots are available on a first come, first serve basis!

Katy Responds

Katy Responds still has over 1,000 families within the Katy area that still are affected by Hurricane Harvey! Sometimes the damage is visible from the outside but most of the time it is not! Our partnership with Katy Responds encourages these families that they have not been forgotten and are loved by God and their local community. For ages 5 and older.

Katy Christian Ministries

Katy Christian Ministries isTransforming lives through God’s Grace and the generosity of our community!” Come and serve alongside Katy Christian Ministries, will be several different serving opportunities from helping in the resale shop, to stocking the food pantry or helping with an Easter project for the under resourced in our local community. For ages 5 and older.

Community Evangelism

Many people like Jesus but don't like church! Our desire is to go to those people rather than wait for them to come to us! We will gather for some training and then go out into strategic areas in Katy to pray for people and share the gospel. For ages 5 and older.

Cross Cultural Relationships

Join us for a cross-cultural relational serving opportunity outside in a park with a picnic and learning to play Cricket! We've asked our South Asian friends (and you are welcome to invite yours) to teach us to play one of the most popular sports in the world. All ages welcome.

CHLB with Kidz Ministry

CHLB with Kidz Ministry will be a time for families, with kids of all ages, to move through various stations creating items such as salvation bracelets, blessing bags, and much more to help support our local faith based missions organizations.

CHLB Childcare Information

Please fill out this form in its entirety to secure your childcare reservation for Church Has Left the Building on March 1, 2020 from 7:30am until 2:30pm.  Childcare is available for children ages 8-weeks through  pre-K. If your child is Kindergarten or older we encourage you to include your child(ren) in your CHLB outreach project.
