CHURCH IN ACTION

Serving our Community’s Special Needs Families

We are looking for a few Grace Fellowship families to help build a porch and access

ramp for Cy Richards in Brookshire on October 3, 2020, 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.

Come and go as your schedule permits!

This is a great serving opportunity for Father & Son / Daughter

teams or small groups who want to serve together!

(Team of 12 volunteers needed / Ages 15+)

Cy has limited mobility and a new porch and ramp will greatly improve his mobility!

Grace Fellowship, in partnership with Fort Bend Ramps, will serve together again to build a new porch and mobility ramp to his home.

No tools or special skills are needed, please pray over this family and register to be a part of our team today!

Register to help Cy Richards on Saturday, October 3rd

Questions? Email churchinaction@whatisgrace.org

Fort Bend Ramps serves special needs families throughout our area and provides access ramps for families that otherwise could not afford them. This precious gift is life changing for these families and gives enhanced mobility in their daily lives! For more information about Fort Bend Ramps, a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, please go to their website.

God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as

you have helped His people and continue to help them. (Hebrews 6:10, NIV)

Express God’s Love for International Students - provide a care package for a student!

Registration is extended until October 2!

We have all been impacted by COVID-19...

Imagine dealing with all these challenges while living so far away from your friends, family, and the country you call home! Right now, amongst us, there are thousands of international students here in Katy/West Houston who are each in this situation facing these challenges, many are so very ALONE and ISOLATED from everyone and everything they know so well!

Let's demonstrate God's love to them by being good neighbors. During our Church in Action project, we have an opportunity to provide international students with tangible love in the form of a care package of essential items, special blessings, and a personal touch.  Your young children can really make these small gift packages super special with Texas themed crafts and notes!

Each family that signs up will be matched with a student who has requested help at this time.  We'll also give you a list of items to include such as grocery staples, back to school supplies, basic cleaning supplies, craft items or even a small kitchen appliance (like an electric kettle or rice cooker).

We'll also supply re-usable face masks, hand sanitizer, and some literature with more information about getting connected to other international students and exploring a relationship with God for these students.

Care packages must be finished and delivered to each student by October 17.

Please join us, as the hands and feet of Jesus, in supporting Katy Christian Ministries, during this difficult time of COVID-19! Their ministry is experiencing a dramatic increase in the number of families seeking assistance at their food pantry, crisis center and social services center! Concurrent with this supplemental demand, they had to close their resale shops (until last week), cancel fund raisers and their overall community financial giving is down ---all of which are essential to funding their free programs and services in our local community!

How can we help KCM?

  • Donate non-perishables and household supplies to their Food Pantry (see list of urgent needs). Have items shipped or drop them off to the address listed.

Volunteer at their Food Pantry

Volunteer at their Resale Shop

Prayerfully consider supporting KCM with a monthly or one-time contribution. #TransformingLivesTogether

Please join us in supporting Katy Responds, as the greater Katy Church “Body of Christ” continues to partner together to assist front line responders and the under-resourced throughout Houston and in our local community! Together we are stronger, together we are Katy Responds!

There are several different ways you and your families can serve this great organization:

Masks for All Project

The Need:  Providing masks to the underprivileged and most vulnerable in the greater Houston area.

The Goal:  1,000,000 masks (Houston wide)

The Call:  1) Would your small group or community of friends come together to make and donate 10-25 masks for this great cause?

2) Do you have extra supplies (elastic, wires and/or cloth) that you would be willing to donate to others to make more masks?

When?: Katy Responds is accepting donations through June 30th.

Please put your donation(s) into a plastic bag labeled “Katy Responds: Masks for All Project” and drop into the large gray plastic bin in front of the Mansion.

Some other ways we can support Katy Responds…

  • Repost and share Katy Responds' social media posts
  • Virtually tell at least 5 friends about Katy Responds
  • Go to www.smile.amazon.com and under the search bar click the 'support charity' button.  Type in 'Katy Responds' and shop! While you are shopping on Amazon, please check out our wish list: Purchase an item on Katy Responds Wish List
  • Homeowners need letters of encouragement, Bible verses, colored pictures, and a sense of community right now.  Mail them to Katy Responds at 22765 Westheimer Pkwy, Katy, TX 77450.
